Mary Jane was born in April 1863 in Taylor Co.,Kentucky. Mary Jane's father is William A. Underwood and her mother was Nancy Nelson. Her paternal grandfather was Abraham Hiram Underwood and her paternal grandmother is Mary Roark. She had three brothers and three sisters, named John Thornton, Thomas A., William H., Sarah, Elizabeth G. and Nancy Ann. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She had six half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Andrew Jackson, Rufus, George Alfred, Ollie, Ellis W., Matson, Maude Alice and Nora. She died at the age of 81 on November 3rd, 1944 in Larue Co.,Kentucky. She was buried in Otter Creek Cemetery,Taylor Co. Kentucky.-
