Annie's father was William Stein Thomas and her mother was Elmira N. Her paternal grandfather was Patrick Boyd Thomas and her paternal grandmother is Caroline Unk. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Vernon William, Patrick, Paul Stein, Kate, Pearl and Ruby.
