Mary Frost and two children were captured by the Indians, some of the details of which misforturne are gleamed from a letter written by Ichabod Plaisted, dated June 09, 1693: " Last night we had four persons carried away from the garrison by the Indians, and one wounded. The place was atSturgeon Creek. And those carried away were Nicholas Frost's wife and two children and the widow Smith." Nicholas was captured about the same time, and was reported " drowned", in 1698. At the last date his wife was licensed to keep a public house of entertainment. At the session of the Probate Court held at Kittery, May 30, 1707, adminstration was granted to Mary Frost, of Kittery, on the "Estte of her husband, Nicholas Frost, late of Kittery, deceased intestate. and Samuel Small and Nicholas Morrell, of Kittery, were her sreties in teh sum of oe300. November 26, 1712 , Bartholomew Frost , the second son, was appointed administrator of his father's estate, and rendered his account, October 02, 1717, together with the following account" on his Mother in the time of her sickness & her funeral Charge" To Doctor Broadstreet To Doctor Packer To my time & expense in carrying my Mother to the Doctor & tending upon heer whilst there To Jeremiah Calfe for her board when Dr. Packer adminitered to her To Eleanor Sayer for Nursing her in the time of her sickness The 106 acresm unorived & unimproved oe92:6:0" , and increase in value of oe 12:6 in five years.
