James Knight Smalley 
James Knight was born on August 28th, 1819 in Clinton Co.,Ohio. James Knight's father was Freeman Jasper ,Rev. Smalley and his mother is Catherine Trader. His paternal grandparents were William Smalley and Prudence Hoel. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Freeman Jasper ,Jr., Benjamin Franklin, Moses W., William Anderson Montogmery, Esther, Mary Polly, Sabra, Sarah Elizabeth and Elizabeth C.. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 58 on December 22nd, 1877 in Xenia,Boutbon Co.,Kansas.-
