Skaggs and her paternal grandmother is Nancy Mayse. She had four brothers named Elisha Jenkins, James, John E. and Henry Mitchell. She was the third oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 63 on October 10th, 1887 in Hart Co.,Kentucky.-
