Volley B. was born on September 13th, 1857 in Horry Co.,South Carolina. Volley B.'s father was Edward Evander Shelley and his mother was Elizabeth L. Williamson. His paternal grandparents were Volley B. Shelley and Amelia Angline Graham. He had four brothers and a sister, named Odell, Pearley, Eston Montogomery, Jack and Lonnia. He had four half-sisters named Marie, Kathleen, Alene and Buddy. He died at the age of 56 on December 12th, 1913.-
