Evander was born on October 30th, 1852 in Horry Co.,South Carolina. Evander's father was Alphia Alford Graham and his mother was Helen Alice Johnson. His paternal grandfather was Joseph Graham and his paternal grandmother is Clare Unknown. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Cornelius J., Lewis Thomas, Daniel, William, David Walker, Alva, Waterman, Covington, Helen Adaline, Florence, Laura Jane and Melia A.. He was the third oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 68 on August 18th, 1921 in Horry Co.,South Carolina.
