Ulysses Samuel was born on December 24th, 1869 in Roundrock,Williamson CO. Tx.. Ulysses Samuel's father was Samuel Bruer Purcell and his mother was Sabra Caroline Smalley. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin S. Purcell and Mary Smalley; his maternal grandparents were Freeman Jasper and Nancy Ann Asher. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Joseph Joel A., Willie B., Zelar, Merton Mart, Freeman Bruer, Samuel Eldon, Mary Anna, Alice Benjamin, Hattie and Dora. He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 95 on September 13th, 1965.-
