Merton Mart was born on December 13th, 1880 in Roundrock,Williamson CO. Tx.. Merton Mart's father was Samuel Bruer Purcell and his mother was Sabra Caroline Smalley. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin S. Purcell and Mary Smalley; his maternal grandparents were Freeman Jasper and Nancy Ann Asher. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Ulysses Samuel, Joseph Joel A., Willie B., Zelar, Freeman Bruer, Samuel Eldon, Mary Anna, Alice Benjamin, Hattie and Dora. He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 78 on November 1st, 1959 in Big Lake,tx.-
