John Howard was born on February 8th, 1877 in Coryell,Co.,Texas. John Howard's father was David Mitchell and his mother was Lydia Ellen Blackwell. His maternal grandparents were Joel Blackwell and Sarah Ememline Graham. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Martin Luther, Walter Scott, William Arthur, Travis Blackwell, Thomas Stuart, Laura Estelle, Ruth and Ruby Delores. He is the oldest of the nine children.-
