James Mayo 
James was born in 1772 in Marion Co.,Tennessee. James' father was Valentine Mayo and his mother is Anne Patterson. His paternal grandparents were James Mayo and Ruth Underwood. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Valentine ,Jr., Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth, Martha, Sarah, Ruth and Nancy. He is the second youngest of the nine children.-
