Eliza's father was Samuel M. Keahey and her mother was Isabella Patterson. Her paternal grandparents were James Keahey and Mary Jane Jackson; her maternal grandparents were Daniel Buffalo Patterson and Margaret Jane Graham. She had four brothers and two sisters, named George B., Daniel Patterson, James, Samuel ,Jr., Margaret and Mary Ann.-
