Susan B. was born in 1841 in Texas.  Susan B.'s father was Samuel Givens ,Jr. Evetts and her mother was Mary Penelope Dodson.  Her paternal grandfather was Samuel Givens Evetts and her paternal grandmother is Susannah Haynie; her maternal grandfather is Jesse Dodson. She had four brothers and a sister, named George H., Samuel H., William Milton, Thomas F. and Frances A..  She is the second oldest of the six children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Lemuel Linger, James W., James William and Elizabeth Miles.
