Mattie Geneva was born on January 8th, 1899. Mattie Geneva's father was J. W. Coleman and her mother was Margaret Helen Faulconer. Her maternal grandparents were William Henry Harrison Faulconer and Mary Agnes Morrison. She had five brothers and three sisters, named James Henry, John William, Hubert Earl, Leonard Dudley, Robert Clifton, Mary Lee, Margaret Rebecca and Lillian Gertrude. She is the third youngest of the nine children.-
