Bartram as his mother. Genealogists disagree at this point.
Sir Richard de Sutton was called the Lord of Malpas and Shocklach in the
county Chester. He inherited from his father-in-law, Sir William
Patrick, arms: argent, a cross patonce or flory, azure. Sir Richard 's
own paternal arms were: or, a lion rampant, tail forked, vert.
Some sources list his death after 1346 while others list death on 25
April 1318. . He was Lord of Warsop, Sutton, Eakring and Cotham in
Nottinghamshire, England.
