William IV the Younger was born in 1175 in Bramber, Sussex, England.  William IV the Younger's father was William III de Braose and his mother was Maud de St. Valerie de Haye.  His paternal grandfather was William II de Braose and his paternal grandmother is Bertha de Pitres de Hereford; his maternal grandparents were Reginald Bernard IV de St. Valerie and UNKNOWN Matilda. He had ten brothers and five sisters, named Roger, Giles, Robert, Thomas, Walter, Hugh, Henry, Bernard, Reginald, John, Flandrina, Joan, Laurette, Margaret and Eleanor.  He died at the age of 35 in 1210 in Corfe or Windsor Castle.

‌William IV the Younger and Maud (Matilda) were married in a religious ceremony about 1197.  They had a son and a daughter, named John and Maud.
