William Henry was born about 1831 in Monongalia County, West Virginia. William Henry's father was Jacob Shaver and his mother was Tabitha Griffen. His paternal grandparents were William Shaver and Leah Norris. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Jacob Granville, Edgar, Edith, Dorcas T., Prudence, Mary C., Cassey Salina and Harriet. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died after 1857 in Harrison County, West Virginia.-
