David Shaver 
David was born about 1833 in Kanawha County, West Virginia. David's father was Paul Shaver and his mother was Caroline Sarah Harper. His paternal grandparents were Paul Shaver and Catherine Riffle; his maternal grandfather was Charles Harper. He had three brothers and a sister, named Paul, Thomas, LaFayette M. and Mary. He is the second youngest of the five children.-
