James Shafer 
James was born on May 12th, 1882 in Roane County, West Virginia. James' father is Hiram Shaver and his mother is Emma E. Smith. His paternal grandparents were John S. Shaver and Anna Shaver. He had a brother and a sister, named Awson and Phebe A.. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 67 on April 12th, 1950 in Kanawha County, West Virginia. He was buried in Walker Cemetery.-
