William Payne 
William was born on November 13th, 1853 in Raleigh, Virginia (now West Virginia). William's father was Mitchell Payne and his mother was Emily J. Hendrix. He was an only child. He died in West Virginia.General Notes

William "Bill" Payne and Kurt Ankrom who have researched this family line.
‌William and Caroline were married in a religious ceremony on October 27th, 1871 in Married by John Smith. They had a son and a daughter, named General Paul and Rosy Ann.

General Paul was born on January 31st, 1874 in Roane County, West Virginia. He died at the age of 86 on August 29th, 1960 in Dunbar, Kanawha County, West Virginia.
