Ephraim McDowell 
Ephraim was born on November 11th, 1771 in Rockbridge, Augusta County, Virginia. Ephraim's father was Samuel Woods McDowell and his mother was Mary McClung. His paternal grandparents were John McDowell and Magdalen Woods; his maternal grandparents were William McClung and Elizabeth Alexander. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Andrew, Samuel, John, James, William M., Joseph, Caleb Wallace, Martha, Magdalen, Sarah and Mary. He was the third youngest of the twelve children. He died after 1802 in Kentucky.-
