James was born on September 1st, 1753 in Frederick County, Virginia. James' father was John Largent and his mother was UNKNOWN Elizabeth. His paternal grandparents were Jean L'Argent and UNKNOWN Rachel. He had two brothers and three sisters, named John, William, Mary, Elizabeth and Ann. He had seven half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Lewis, Randall, Aaron, Abraham, Moses, Thomas, Nelson, Phebe, Sarah and Jane.General Notes

Wallace Ward of Manassas, VA has done research and found a James Largent
that may be this James Largent based on the following information:
" I don't have that many Largent's in file yet, but I can tell these
things from the pension. 1. He lived in Hampshire County, VA at the time
of his enlistment. 2. He lived in Harrison Township, Champaign County,
Ohio about 1832. 3. I would impagine that he entered the service
somewhere around the age of 18 years old, making him about 74 years old
in 1832. I would figure plus or minus 2 years in age. Mostly likely
minus. I looked up James Largent in the census and found him in the 1820
census living in Concord, Champaign, Ohio. One male 45+ and two females,
one 20 to 45 and one 45+."
