Joseph Hiett 
Joseph was born on June 11th, 1774 in Hampshire County, Virginia (now West Virginia). Joseph's father was Evan Hiatt and his mother was Sarah Smith. His paternal grandparents were John Jr. Hiatt and Margaret Stephens; his maternal grandparents are Jeremiah Smith and Mary Elizabeth. He had three brothers and six sisters, named John, Jonathan, Jeremiah Sr., Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth, Ann, Sarah and Martha. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 85 on March 24th, 1860 in Sandy Ridge, Hampshire County, Virginia (now West Virginia).
