His paternal grandparents were Johan Jacob Volck and Anna Catherine; his maternal grandparents were Heinrich Meckel and Margaretha Hartkopff. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Georg Hieronemus, Carolus, Andreas, Johannes, Anna Barbara, Anna Gertraut, Anna Maria, Elizabeth and Anna Catharina. He died after 1760.General Notes
