Cause of Death:<CAUS> Stroke
From her funeral program: " Myrtle Delfs Bjorlie, age 87, resudent of
McVille, ND, formerly of Pekin, ND, died Thursday, December 15, 2005 at
the Nelson County Health System-Care Center in McVille. Myrtle Delfs was
born October 27, 1918 the daughter of Marcus and Anne (Knuth) Delfs in
McHenry, ND, where she spent her younger years and attended school. On
June 1, 1947, she married Orel Stanley Bjorlie in McHenry. They lived on
the farm near Pekin until 1993, when they moved to McVille. Myrtle
became a resident of the Nelson County Health System-Care Center in
December of 2002. Myrtle was a member of Sheyenne Lutheran Church and
participated in the ladies circle and taught Sunday school. She was also
a 4-H leader and was involved with the school PTA as her children were
growing up. She enjoyed Word Search Books, reading, and playing
pinochle. She was also known for her cooking and especially her homemade
buns. Myrtle will be remembered and missed by her husband: Orel of
McVille, her children: Richard (Jan) of San Antonio, TX, and Ruth (David)
Sundlie of Bismarck, ND. She is also survived by two grandchildren,
Susan and John of Bismarck, one sister: Helen (Richard) McDaniel of
Cooperstown, ND and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death
by her parents, three brothers: Herman, Marcus and Mike, four sisters:
Alma, Tina, Mabel and Loretta."
Funeral Service was held Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 11:00 AM in
Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, North Dakota. Officiating:
Reverend David Nichols, Organist: Betty Ann Bina, Spring Interment at
Sheyenne Church Cemetery. Casketbearers: Payne Bolken, Lanny Klefstad,
Bruce Klefstad, Carl Jensen, Doug Messner & David Foreng. Stanley-Iverson
