John Chestnut 
John was born on June 18th, 1743 in Shenandoah County, Virginia. John's father was James Chestnut and his mother was Margaret Cantey. His paternal grandparents were Alexander Chestnut and Mary O'Draine; his maternal grandparents were John Cantey and Margaret McGrit. He had a brother and a sister, named James and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Son, Richard and Sally. He died at the age of 69 on April 1st, 1813 in Camden, Kershaw County, South Carolina. He was buried in Knight Hill, Kershaw County, South Carolina.-
