James Chestnut 
James was born about 1745 in Shenandoah County, Virginia. James' father was James Chestnut and his mother was Margaret Cantey. His paternal grandparents were Alexander Chestnut and Mary O'Draine; his maternal grandparents were John Cantey and Margaret McGrit. He had a brother and a sister, named John and Margaret. He was the youngest of the three children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Son, Richard and Sally. He died on December 8th, 1772.-
