Nichlas Metzger was born about 1750 in Frederick County, Maryland. Nichlas Metzger's father was George Valentin Metzger Butcher and his mother was Maria Elizabeth Keifer. His paternal grandparents were Johann Phillip Metzgar and Anna Catharina Dohm; his maternal grandparents are Johan Wilhelm Keifer and Anna Catharina Lepper. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Balthasar, George Valentine, Jacob, Valentine, Johannes, Anna Barbara, Louisa, Elizabeth, Anna and Margaret. He died after 1785.-
