Francis Marion was born on September 22nd, 1832. Francis Marion's father is Thomas Sliger and his mother was Mariann Kyker. His maternal grandfather was Joseph Keicher\Kyker and his maternal grandmother is Jane Booth. He has seven brothers and four sisters, named James Emberson, Joseph Branch, Adam, Peter, William Manson, Thomas Jefferson, John Wesley, Catherine Jane, Loiusa H., Martha Ann and Mary Ann.
