George Sherman

George was born on December 18th, 1687 in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island. George's father was Peleg Sherman and his mother was Elizabeth Lawton. His paternal grandparents were Phillip Sherman and Sarah Odding; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Lawton and Elizabeth Salisburie. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named William, Daniel, Peleg, Elizabeth, Samuel, Eber, John, Benjamin, Mary, Ann, Isabel and Sarah.
