John Taylor was born on June 8th, 1887 in Springville, Utah Co., Utah. John Taylor's father is Walter Isaac Clegg and his mother was Deborah Wing Smith. His maternal grandfather is John Albert Smith and his maternal grandmother was Rhoda Gifford. He had six brothers and five sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Walter Isaac, William Albert, George Raymond, Joseph, Henry Afton, Alphius Earl, Lillian Isabell, Jane Pearl, Rhoda May, Deborah Myrtle, Sarah Estell and Parley. He is the sixth oldest of the thirteen children.-
