Katie Mae was born in 1896 in NC. Katie Mae's father was John R. Anders and her mother is Birdie Hanks. Her paternal grandfather was Berry Anders and her paternal grandmother is Catherine Poole. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Walter Neal, Clinton L., Ernest R., Arl McCoy, Maude B. and Biddie Fae. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 53 in 1949 in NC.-
