Isabel De was born about 1172 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.  Isabel De's father was Richard Strongbow Fitzgilbert Clare and her mother was Eve Aoife Macmurrough.  Her paternal grandparents were Gilbert Strongbow De Clare and Isabel Elizabeth De Beaumont; her maternal grandparents were Diarmait Macmurchada King Of Leinster and Mor Ingen Muirchertaig O'toole. She had a sister named Joan De.  She was the older of the two children.  She died in 1220 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.  She was buried in Tintern Abbey, Chapel Hill, Monmouthshire, Eng.

‌Isabel De and William The Protector were married in a religious ceremony in August 1189 in London, Middlesex, England.  They had a son and five daughters, named Gilbert VII Earl Of Pembroke, Sybil, Maud, Eve, Isabel and Joane.
