Elizabeth was born on March 7th, 1718 in Queen Caroline P, Howard, Md and her baptism took place on March 7th, 1719 in , Ann Arundel, Md. Elizabeth's father was Robert SHIPLEY and her mother is Elizabeth STEVENS. Her paternal grandparents were Adam SHIPLEY and Lois HOWARD; her maternal grandfather was Charles STEVENS and her maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Mrs STEVENS. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Charles, Robert, George Jr., William, Adam, Ruth, Keturah, Retinah, Sarah and Lois (Lours). She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.
