Edward III Plantagenet 
Edward III was born on November 13th, 1312 in Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire England and his baptism took place on November 20th, 1312.1 Edward III's father was Edward II Plantagenet and his mother was Isabelle of France. His paternal grandparents were Edward I "Longshanks" Plantagenet and Eleanor Of CASTILE AND LbEON; his maternal grandparents are IV Philip and Jeanne Of Navare. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Adam, John, Eleanor and Joanna. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 64 on June 21st, 1377 in Sheen Palace, Surrey, England. King Edward III
Born at Windsor Castle on 13 November 1312 at 5.40 a.m., the very first English King to have the exact time of his birth noted. He succeeded his father, King Edward II , who was deposed on 20 January 1327. The coronation took place at Westminster Abbey on 2 February. During his reign, the parliament was divided into two houses which still exist today, the office of "Justice of Peace" was created, and the French language was replaced by the English in the law courts. In 1348, he founded the "Order of the Garter", still one of the most prestigious orders of chivalry in Europe. On 21 June 1377, he died following a stroke at Sheen Palace.

Reigned 1327-1377. Edward assumed effective power in 1330 after imprisoning his mother and executing her lover Roger de Mortimer who had murdered his father; thereafter his reign was dominated by military adventures. His victory in Scotland, especially at Haildon Hill 1333 encouraged him to plan (1363) the union of England and Scotland. Through his mother he claimed the French throne thus starting (1337) the Hundred years war. His son John of Gaunt dominated the government during his last years. Died of a Stroke.
