Blasius was born in 1625 in Gresten Parish, , Austria.  Blasius' father was Kilian PLANKENBUEHLER and his mother was Martha UNKNOWN. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Hans, Thomas, Matthias, Adam, Christopher, Paul, Magdalena, Sophia and Peterlaina.  He is the fourth oldest of the ten children.
