Martha Susan was born about 1839 in Prince Edward Co., VA.1 Martha Susan's father was Thomas Robert Jenkins and her mother was Martha Booker Fore. Her paternal grandfather was Obadiah Jenkins and her paternal grandmother is Sarah Young; her maternal grandfather was James Fore and her maternal grandmother is Sarah Elizabeth HURT. She had six brothers and five sisters, named William Hurt, John Reuben, Robert Thomas, Joseph Scott, Lafayette Rosser, George Washington, Sarah Ellen, Mary Ann Booker, Catherine Barnett, Pauline Annette and America Virginia. She was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. She died on August 6th, 1903 in Kanawha Co., WV.1 General Notes
