Nancy HANKS 
Nancy was born on February 5th, 1784 in Amelia, Amelia, Va and her baptism took place on October 8th, 1808 in Rockingham, Co, Brock's Gap, Va. Nancy's father was Joseph HANKS and her mother was Lucy Nancy SHIPLEY. Her paternal grandparents were John HANKS and Sarah EVANS; her maternal grandfather was Robert SHIPLEY and her maternal grandmother is Sarah DORSEY. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Joshua David, George David, William, Charles, Joseph, Elizabeth and Polly. She was the third youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 34 on October 5th, 1818 in Gentryville, Spencer, Indiana. She was buried in Spencer Co, In.General Notes
