John DESHA

John was born in 1761 in , Northampton, Pa.  John's father was Robert DESHA and his mother is Eleanor WHEELER.  His paternal grandparents are Robert DESHA and Mary Elizabeth EVERFIELDT; his maternal grandparents were Joseph WHEELER and Maria Holmes. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Benjamin, Robert, Joseph Holmes, James, Robert, Benjamin II, Nancy, Eleanor "Nelly", Mary "Polly", Phoebe Ann and Elizabeth "Betsy".  He was the oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 70 on August 8th, 1831.
