William Betts 
William was born on December 3rd, 1752 in Buckingham Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania and his baptism took place in Friend's Meeting House, Wrightstown, Bucks, PA.1 William's father was Thomas Betts and his mother was Sarah Phebe Smith. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Betts and Susannah Willett Stevenson; his maternal grandparents were William Smith and Rebecca Wilson. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, John, Stephen, Isaac, Zachariah, Sarah, Ann, Rebecca, Susannah and Mary. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.
