Mary E. "Polly" was born about 1851 in Williamson Co.,Illinois. Mary E. "Polly"'s father was Hiram Richard Barnett and her mother was Martilla J. Thaxton. Her maternal grandparents were James C. Thaxton and (Mrs) ???. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named James W., Joseph W., Elijah, Hiram Henry, Benjamin Franklin, William Eli "Pess", John Wesley, Andrew, Mary Louisa, Martilla J. and Fanny. She was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. She died on July 14th, 1873 in Williamson Co.,Illinois.-
