Samuel was born about 1635 in Of Simsbury, Hartford, Ct. Samuel's father was John BISSELL and his mother was Elizabeth THOMPSON. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Thomas, John, Nathaniel, Sarah, Mary, Mary Bissell, Mary, Joyce Bissell, Joyce Joice and Ann. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.
