Hugh AUDLEY 
Hugh was born in 1267 in Stratton Audley, Oxfordshire.1 Hugh's father was James de AUDLEY and his mother was Ela LONGSPEE. His paternal grandparents were Henry de Audley and Bertred Mainwaring; his maternal grandparents were William Longespee and Idoine De CAMVILLE. He had six brothers and a sister, named James Of, Henry Of, William Of, Nicholas De, Hugh Of, Nicholas and Joan Of. He died at the age of 58 in 1325.1 General Notes

This Hugh de Audley was an eminent soldier, who had gained favour andfame by his services with the roval army in Gascony and Scotland. He wasthe only son of Sir James of Audley, Lord Audley of Heleigh, and hissecond wife Eva [should be Eva], daughter of William Longspee, and ismentioned as joining the King (Edward I) with a retinue of well-equippedretainers.....
