Isabel was born in 1165 in Scotland.1   Isabel's father was William I 'The Lion' De Huntington and her mother was Isabele D'Avenal.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry UNKNOWN and Adelaide (Ada) De Warenne; her maternal grandparents were Richard Avenal and Sibyl UNKNOWN. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Henry, Ada and Aufrica.  She was the second oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Alexander II 'The Peaceful', Margaret, Isabella and Marjorie.1 


Isabel's first family with Robert Le Brus

‌Isabel and Robert were married in a religious ceremony in 1183 in Scotland.1   They had a son named William.


Isabel's second family with Robert De Ros

‌Isabel and Robert were married in a religious ceremony in 1191 in Haddington, Lincolnshire, England.1   They had three sons named William, Robert and Alexander.
