Hugh was born in 1057 in Vermandois, Normandy, France.1   Hugh's father was Henry Capet and his mother was Anna Agnesa Yaroslavna.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Capet and Constance De Toulouse; his maternal grandparents were Jaroslaus UNKNOWN and Ingeborg Olaffsdottir. He had two brothers and a sister, named Philippe, Robert and Emma.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 45 on October 18th, 1102 in Tarsus, Asia Minor.  He was buried in St. Paul, Tarsus, Asia Minor.1 1

‌Hugh were married in a religious ceremony in 1077.2 


Hugh's second family with Adelaide De Vermandois

‌Hugh and Adelaide were married in a religious ceremony in 1078 in France.3   They had five sons and seven daughters, named Ralph, Henry Lord Of, Simon, Raoul, William, Constance, Maud Or Matilda, Agnes, Beatrix, Matilda (Maud), Isabelle -Elizabeth and Maud Matilda.
