Gerberge was born in 0973 in Verdun, Meuse, France.1 Gerberge's father was Godfrey D'ardenne Bidgau and her mother was Mathilde Von Billung. Her paternal grandparents were Gozelon D'ardenne and Uda Von Metz; her maternal grandparents were Hermann Billung and Hildegarde Von Westerburg. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Frederick, Gonselon, Adelheid (Adelaide), Ermentrude and Regilla. She was the third youngest of the six children. She had two half-brothers named Arnulf and John.1 -
