William MARTIN 
William was born on January 11th, 1831 in Staverton, Devon and his baptism took place there on February 28th, 1831. William's father was William MARTIN and his mother was Jane CHAMPERNOWNE. His paternal grandparents were Joseph MARTIN and Isabella Margaret STURGES; his maternal grandparents were Arthur Harington CHAMPERNOWNE and Louisa BULLER. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named Arthur, Richard, Francis, Charles, Alfred John, John Harington, Reginald, Caroline, (Anna) Frances, Mary Isabella, Anne and Louise Renira. He was the second oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 61 on September 7th, 1892 in Tasmania. He was buried in Tasmania.General Notes
