Jane Or Joan was born in 1529 in Of, Halsbury, Devonshire, England. Jane Or Joan's father was Roger GIFFORD and her mother was Margaret COBLEY. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas GIFFORD and Anna CORYTON; her maternal grandparents were John COBLEY and Jane FORTESCUE. She had seven brothers and six sisters, named John, Walter, Hugh, Thomas, Andrew, Fulk, Roger, Anne, Mary, Alice, Elizabeth, Wilmot and Philippa. She was the seventh youngest of the fourteen children. She died at the age of 67 on April 16th, 1596 in Will Probated.General Notes
