Nicholas was born about 1243. Nicholas' father was Robert de Stafford and his mother was Alice Corbet. His paternal grandparents were Hervey de Stafford and Petronel de Ferrers; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Corbet and Isabel de Valletort. He had two brothers named Richard and Sir Robert. He was the oldest of the three children. He died in 1293.-
