Helewise was born about 1150 in Coverham, Yorkshire, England. Helewise's father was Ranulph De Glanville and her mother was Bertha De Valoines. Her paternal grandparents were Sir Hervey de Glanville and Matilda; her maternal grandfather was Theobald de Valoines. She had a brother and a sister, named William and Maud. She was the youngest of the three children. She died in 1195.-
